Billie Hoffmann is a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist currently pursuing their BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2026. They work with found and second-hand materials in visible mending, soft collage, book making, and the written word, among other mediums. They co-founded and served as Lead Visual Arts Editor for IMPACT Literary Arts Magazine from 2019-2022, which received American Scholastic Association’s First Place National Ranking for Online Publications in 2021. Their photography work, “Going for a Swim,” was included in Artbash, a group exhibition displayed at SAIC’s Sharp Gallery in 2023. Hoffmann’s print media work, “Love, as ever,” was included in Cycles of Liberatory Love, a group exhibition curated by the CELLOPHANE collective in 2024. SAIC’s student newspaper, F Newsmagazine, featured an article about Hoffmann’s performative photography series, “wearing your love <3,” in June of 2024.
